Entities driving the Cross-River State Hydrocarbon and Solid Minerals Development
The Agency's primary purpose is to oversee the exploration and exploitation of mineral deposits on behalf of the Cross-River State government. The State Governor appointed Prince Ntui Ogar as the Director-General (DG) of the Agency. To expedite decision-making and improve efficiency, the DG reports directly to the Governor, eliminating bureaucratic delays that could hinder the Agency's effectiveness.
The State Governor approved the establishment of Cross-Page Energy Ltd, CPEL. CPEL serves as the project operator, with the Agency representing Cross River State on CPEL's board.
The major projects encompass hydrocarbon exploration and production, the construction of modular refineries, an LNG plant, and a Natural Gas Processing complex for the production of LPG, CNG, NGL, and other marketable natural gas liquids. Additionally, there are plans to establish processing plants for solid minerals.
The realization of these projects would be unprecedented in the country, marking the first time a Nigerian State Government collaborates with private investors to establish a gas processing complex and an LNG plant.
Leveraging Calabar's strategic location as a Port City and its Free Trade Zone designation, we intend to maximize LNG and processed solid minerals for export, utilizing the NNPC Jetty.
With Calabar as the hub, we will purchase raw minerals from other states for storage, processing, and export.
